Neli Vazquez-Rowland is not your standard president/CEO of a professional nail care company. With her business background and passion for supporting and encouraging women to use their potential and expand their life’s possibilities she is growing a professional beauty nail care line with the shortest name Be! into becoming one that has risen from below the radar screens into a fast growing salon nail care brand.
Be!’s philosophy of "doing well by doing good" has been a guiding principle in Ms. Vazquez-Rowland’s success as an entrepreneur. She has been invited as a panelist and speaker at women's leadership events to talk about being a social entrepreneur by creating programs that help women advance in the world…and people in general that are “off” their game.
As someone who has enjoyed success by overcoming obstacles in life, I derive tremendous joy in helping others find inspiration and dare them to aspire to achieve their heart’s desire. Be! "For Women on Top of Their Game!" reminds us to have fun and go for it.
Ms. Vazquez-Rowland grew up in an immigrant entrepreneurial family, in an at-risk community and was the first in her family of seven to go to college. After graduation, she entered the financial industry, where she worked as a stockbroker for more 13 years. During that time she established a proven track record in identifying business opportunities and providing the venture capital and management expertise necessary to grow companies from the conceptual stage to multi-million dollar businesses. When a personal family experience with alcoholism and a subsequent set back occurred, Ms Vazquez-Rowland and her husband realized there was a tremendous need for supportive housing for people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Hence, A Safe Haven L.L.C. was born in 1994. From the moment she co-founded A Safe Haven, she knew that she was making a difference helping people that had lost all hope. Today, A Safe Haven is the largest recovery home operator in the country and has served more than 25,000 people, many of whom are now living productive lives, supporting their families and serving as role models to others.
